Q1. Can I still use the original physical Octopus card and Octopus number after transferring the physical Octopus card to Octopus on iPhone or Apple Watch or Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay?
A1.No. When the physical Octopus card is transferred to Octopus on iPhone or Apple Watch or Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay, the original physical Octopus card will be disabled and cannot be reused. For details, please refer to the Octopus website www.octopus.com.hk。
Q2.If I did not notice the change of Octopus number at the time I transferred the physical Octopus card to Octopus on iPhone or Apple Watch or Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay, and re-registered my new Octopus number on the website few days after, will the KMB bus fare spent during the period after transfer and before re-registration be counted in the KMB bus fare rebate of the month?
A2.No. The bank will hand over the Octopus numbers to the KMB company at the end of each month for the purpose of retrieving ride records. Unless the customer re-registers the new octopus number, the bank will not know that the customer's octopus number has changed. When customer transfers a physical Octopus card to Octopus on iPhone or Apple Watch or Smart Octopus in Samsung Pay, the old Octopus card number will be disabled and no records will be recorded from it. And after re-registering the new octopus card number, the fare rebate will only be calculated based on the ride record of the re-registered octopus card number for subsequent calculations.
